The American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) began in 1976 as contest between all-star teams from various regions. Over the years ARML has expanded to include teams from the United States, Canada, China, and South Korea.
Since at least the early 80’s, MAML has sent at least one team, consisting of the top students in the state for the regular season, to the ARML competition – initially in Maryland, and then beginning in June, 1983 at Penn State University.
